The Plant Venue in Jackson MS – Our honest first impression
While being born and raised Mississippians ourselves, we’ve heard the importance of choosing the right area of the state to get married in. On our trip down to Jackson to view The Plant Venue, we drove highways almost up until we arrived at the venue making for an easy drive for any potential guests.
When turning off the highway and within 10 minutes of the venue we noticed fun, funky restaurants all around. Not to mention some food trucks and different lodging options.
The area felt industrial and storied–but in a good way! The area was rich with culture that we could appreciate!
Once we parked in the clearly marked parking areas, we walked up to the front of the venue. My first impression was, “Wow–this place is HUGE!” And I was only in the entry walkway. I was truly in awe considering the potential guest capacity you could utilize at The Plant Venue in Jackson MS.

Upon walking into The Plant Venue in Jackson MS during a busy event we were instantly greeted by the owner. Being a photographer and regularly attending large events like the one hosted at The Plant Venue that day, we know it’s truly rare for a venue owner to make themselves available to greet guests and attendees. We were greeted by Ansley with a smile and a handshake. She even knew who we were ahead of time. It was truly southern hospitality at its finest.

The Plant Venue in Jackson MS – A truly romantic, modern, and sexy place
As we continued to enjoy the day, we were introduced to the various areas that are utilized for weddings. Again and again we were inspired by the sizes and shapes of the rooms. Plants adorned the walls and were clearly worked into the design.
The plant life paired with the formerly industrial space creates an interesting juxtaposition of concepts. This easily makes it one of the most unique Mississippi wedding venues in the entire state.
We were most in love with and impressed by the bride’s and groom’s suites. The bridal suite, known as The Parlor, exudes feminine and bright aesthetics for you and your party to enjoy on the morning of your wedding! The groom’s suite, known as The Retreat, is stunningly masculine and sexy. These two areas offer endless photo opportunities on their own, but let’s continue to the other areas to explore.
If you are hoping for a wedding that is effortlessly modern and interesting–consider this venue heavily.

This is truly a photographer’s dream when considering portrait locations! Every room has a minimum of 5 areas you can utilize for portraits that will create variety within your gallery. The unique direction of light in each room offers a cinematic approach to photos with lighting lending itself to gorgeous saturation of color.

Travel in and out of Jackson to The Plant Venue is incredibly easy due to the accessibility to highways. Once you turn off of major highways, The Plant Venue is a quick drive.
Parking at The Plant
Parking is clearly marked and easy to navigate with oversized vehicle spacing.
Restrooms
Guests will find clearly marked restrooms located inside the left of The Atrium. Stalls were a comfortable size, and the restrooms were cleaned and well maintained. Hand towels and handsoap were readily available.

Now for the fun!
Guests will have plenty of room to move around and enjoy the space! With the 15,000+ square feet of event space to roam, your guests will feel at ease while celebrating. We loved the built in bar. It proves to be lengthy ensuring many guests can be served at once.
The Plant Venue in Jackson MS – The ceremony & reception potential
Truthfully–The Plant Venue in Jackson MS strikes the perfect balance of flexibility and design meaning there are various spaces within the venue that could function practically and aesthetically as the ceremony or reception area.
The ceremony could potentially be held in The Courtyard, The Atrium, or The Sunset Lounge. You’ll want to consult your planner for which may work best considering your celebration afterwards.
As far as the reception is concerned, there is ample seating to have guests seated for a formal dinner or create a less formal reception space by letting guests mingle while standing. The space is so gorgeously curated you’ll find guests love to wander and glance at the unique juxtaposition of plant life and industrial architecture.
You will want to note for The Courtyard in particular that it is an open air ceremony space. You’ll want to consider the likelihood of rain or HOT Mississippi sun during your ceremony time and discuss potential alternatives and troubleshooting with your planner.

Where do we start? When you hire Des, you get so much more than a photographer. She was incredibly thoughtful in how she approached our wedding and made it the perfect expression of us and our relationship. Within the first couple conversations, she was able to get a solid grasp on who we are as a couple and as people and what was important to us. From there, she laid out our options to help us select the best sites for our ceremony and photos and then was able to work with us to create OUR perfect day. Des laid out the initial timeline for us, and then worked with us over the course of several months to make tweaks to it, making sure it was exactly what we wanted.
