Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tips + Inspiration
Oregon’s gorgeous coast brings all you could possibly want for your Cape Kiwanda elopement. At Cape Kiwanda you’ll find easily accessed views, golden sunsets, and innumerable things to do during your Cape Kiwanda elopement. Located at Pacific City, Oregon, Cape Kiwanda is one of my favorite locations to recommend to couples eloping on the Oregon coast. This scenic landscape offers more than a killer place to surf or fish. It boasts one of the most gorgeous sunset locations on the entire West Coast.
Lindsey and Riley got to cash in on all the perks during their Cape Kiwanda elopement, so we wanted to share some of the best insights. As elopement photographers who can teach you everything you need to know on how to Elope in Oregon, we’d love to share these Cape Kiwanda elopement tips with you as well as our Cape Kiwanda elopement packages!!
Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tip #1:
Choose sunset for your elopement.
Cape Kiwanda’s sunsets have the option to provide everything you could want in an elopement from warmth and golden skies all the way to moody coastal views. Lindsey & Riley got to experience both on their Cape Kiwanda elopement day, and that’s what we hope for every eloping couple!
Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tip #2:
Choose local eats and brews to spice up your experience.
Some of our favorite places to recommend to couples choosing a Cape Kiwanda elopement is to either snag some brews from Pelican Brewing Company at minimum, but we encourage everyone to eat there if at all possible! We especially love when couples choose to utilize their event space so any Cape Kiwanda elopement guests have a comfortable place to eat and celebrate your wedding day while you hang alongside or adventure on your own for those epic photos! Another local spot we love to hit for the delicious carbs is Doryland Pizza! With ranch that’s to die for and slices sure to fill you up after adventuring around the coast, this pizza spot will satisfy all your Cape Kiwanda elopement pizza needs!
Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tip #3:
Bring along meaningful guests (or furry family members).
Lindsey and Riley opted to have no guests, but they wanted pups to be a part of their day! Cape Kiwanda permits pets, so feel free to leash up your fur babies for your Cape Kiwanda elopement! If you choose to have guests more of the human kind, Cape Kiwanda has amazing lodging options for any guests that will need a comfy place to stay overnight.
Check out this Airbnb for more aerial views of the beach while this Airbnb gets you right up close to the action.
We believe eloping couples should be able to bring along meaningful relationships to their wedding day, and your Cape Kiwanda elopement should be no different!

Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tip #4:
Be ready to embrace Oregon’s famous coastal weather.
Maybe you’re choosing to elope on the Oregon coast because you love a certain type of weather. Weather in Oregon can change swiftly, so one of our biggest tips for Cape Kiwanda elopements is to come prepared for anything. Lindsey and Riley wore Chacos so they could hop around the beach but also have some stable footing for those slick tide pools they loved to explore. You’ll want to come prepped with rain coats, sun screen, chap stick, and so much more to help you feel in the moment. We think the sudden change in weather is fun and an awesome way to spend your elopement day-adjusting to the elements!
Cape Kiwanda Elopement Tip #5:
Plan to spend some of your Cape Kiwanda elopement time for after the sun goes down.
Here’s a local tip: right down the beach from Cape Kiwanda is a gorgeous little beach you can drive onto, stoke up a bonfire, and dance under the stars (and your headlights) to celebrate your new vows!! Lindsey and Riley took advantage of some Pelican brews, Doryland pizza, and their headlights so they could dance the night away during their Cape Kiwanda elopement.
